At Gold Coast Inclusive Adventures, we design each program to create memories that incapsulate each individuals human experience.

My name is Leandra Fernandez and I am a disability support worker who had a vision that clients could experience so much more than what was currently on offer through NDIS.

After working as a childcare worker I spent my early twenties working in corporate organisations. I started to lack the drive for the day to day private sector and began to seek out an opportunity to purse a position in which I felt meaning in my work.

After moving to a small town I took on a role as a disability support worker and have never looked back. It was the greatest thing I have ever done. Being able to meet so many beautiful people and have the opportunity to enrich their lives and those of their families has been absolutely life changing. I've relocated to the Gold Coast, in Queensland and I want to take disability support a step further. In striving to be the best possible version of myself, it only makes sense to provide the best possible experiences for my clients. I want to provide tours and events that are different to what's out there in the NDIS framework, and I want to learn about my clients desires, dreams and goals.

I wholeheartedly love being part of an industry that promotes creativity, differs day to day and allows for constant growth both personally and professionally. All while giving back to the local community, developing meaningful relationships and supporting people to live the lives that they deserve.

I want the Gold Coast Inclusive Adventures mantra to be "turning disability into ability" and that is exactly how I feel about my work. My goal is to support all my participants to be as independent as possible, embrace their individuality and not be limited by their disabilities. Who else can say that they are happy and go to work with a genuine smile on their face each day. I’m pretty lucky.

These activities are designed to appeal to the creative aspect of the participants personality. We aim to develop, enrich and support our participants lives through fun and inclusive events designed specifically for our participants needs.

Research has repeatedly shown that animal interaction and therapy can assist people living with disability in many ways. Our disability support staff in cooperation with the destination management, have created the perfect itinerary to maximise learning, enrichment and enjoyment opportunities! 

If you have something in mind that isn’t described in these pages, including amazing birthday parties just let me know, and I’ll do my best to accommodate. I can adjust for physical limitations or time restraints, or arrange for extra disability support staff on hand if it's a larger group!
